Clinical Experience

Clinical experience makes up 50 per cent of the course content and is completed in the field, that is, in hospitals and community agencies. Clinical begins in the first semester of the course and progressively increases in duration and complexity. Rural clinical placement options are available to students at both Peninsula and Gippsland campuses.

Students are provided with learning experiences in a range of areas including Medical/Surgical, Aged Care, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Operating Theatre, Accident and Emergency, Intensive Care and Midwifery.

Simulated clinical environment

The nursing laboratories provide simulated hospital environments that create opportunities to explore complex nursing situations that require creative problem solving.
