BCH3031 - Advanced Molecular Biology: Modern Concepts and Applications

• Prohibitions:
• Prerequisites: At least one of the following: BCH2011, BCH2022, MOL2011, MOL2022, or BMS2062

Semester 2

BCH3042 - Cell Signal Transduction: Role in Cancer and Human Disease

• Prohibitions:
• Prerequisites: At least one of the following: BCH2011, BCH2022, MOL2011, MOL2022, or BMS2021 or BMS2042

BCH3052 - Advanced Protein Biology: from sequence to structure and disease

• Prohibitions: BTH3741, CHM3730
• Prerequisites: At least one of the following: BCH2011, BCH2022, MOL2011, MOL2022, or BMS2021 or BMS2062

BCH3990 - Action in Biochemistry Research Project (offered in both semester 1 & 2)

• Prerequisites: Permission of the Head of Biochemistry Dept. Students must have completed all first and second level units of their approved major, and be able to demonstrate that they have an appropriate project and supervisor/s, 12 points of study in the discipline area at 2nd year level and a distinction over 24 points at second year level.

Note regarding entry into BCH4000 (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Honours)

Faculty of Science regulations will normally require a distinction average in 24 points of third year subjects in the area of study in which it is desired to complete Honours.

Thus, students contemplating undertaking Honours in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology would normally complete four of the third year subjects.
