Research Activities
Towards an integrated screening program for the Plasmodium falciparum kinome Project funded by Medicine for Malaria Venture (MMV).
The Lucet laboratory focuses upon understanding the structure, function and biology of Plasmodium falciparum kinases that play a fundamental role in malaria pathogenesis. We are particularly interested in developing an integrated screening program for the P. falciparum kinome together with a high-throughput crystallographic program to ultimately lead to the development of urgently needed new anti-malarial drugs.
Techniques/Expertise
Molecular biology, recombinant protein expression using insect and bacterial cells, protein purification, X-ray crystallography, enzyme assays, thermal shift assay and development of affinity-based assays.
