Dean's Award for a Distinguished Research Career

David Jans Dean's Award

Professor David Jans has received the Dean's Award for Excellence for a Distinguished Research Career , which was presented at Faculty Board. The award recognises Professor Jans' contributions to the Faculty over the previous ten years that exceed the normal requirements of the positions held by the academic staff members.

"It is nice to be recognised for having significant research contributions over a long period. The most important, however, is to now try and make a difference by translating these contributions into real medical outcomes, which will be my priority over the next 10-15 years." Professor Jans said.

Professor Jans' distinguished research career includes publication of more than 250 scientific papers, over 7000 citations, various awards, multiple invitations to present at international conferences, editorial board memberships of several eminent journals, and a H-index of 49.
