The Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience Degree
The Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience is a multidisciplinary undergraduate degree that provides a unique opportunity to study behavioural neuroscience in combination with psychology and the biomedical sciences (particularly biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, anatomy, genetics, and immunology).
Through site visits and discussions with clinicians and patients, students acquire an appreciation of the central role that neuroscience plays in the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
Students gain practical laboratory skills and learn to record, analyse and critically evaluate scientific data. They learn how to present their findings as oral, written or web-based reports. Graduates have a thorough understanding of the biochemical, anatomical and physiological bases of brain function and dysfunction, as well as a detailed knowledge of behavioural disorders and current therapeutic strategies.
The 60-point psychology major which may be studied in the BBNS is accredited by the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
