Start your career through the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology
Completion of DEV-units through either a science or biomedical science degree, prepares our graduates for a wide range of careers. Graduates can apply their knowledge of anatomy and developmental biology directly, such as choosing a career in the biomedical sphere. Alternatively, graduates can use the general skills and knowledge acquired to pursue careers in other areas.
Our graduates acquire the following skills:
- Essential analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in scientific writing
- Experience in oral communication, interaction with students and academic staff, and answering scientific questions
- Understanding in how abnormalities in genetic and/or environmental regulation of development can lead to birth defects as well as chronic diseases in adulthood
- Knowledge of the major body systems: microscopic and macroscopic anatomy, development and function
- Familiarity with design and analysis of experiments
- Hands-on expertise in modern developmental biology techniques
