The Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology is one of six departments in the School of Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. Our strong research focuses on the broad field of developmental biology, with research interests ranging from the genetic and molecular regulation of embryo and fetal development, to stem cell biology and patterning and anatomy of the adult body. The department is responsible for the teaching of human anatomy in a range of degree programmes, and oversees the teaching of a BSc major in developmental biology.
