Bayside Health Library Services

There's good news for our many users who own a laptop with wireless networking. The Bayside Health Library Service has rececently installed wireless Internet access points in the Ian Potter Library and in the Seminar Room of the AMREP Education Centre. Staff, students and visitors using laptops will now be able to access Internet resources while visiting the Library. A short-term guest account can quickly be set up by Library staff. At this point the guest account will not provide access to all Intranet or Library e-resources, but it will certainly greatly improve connectivity for laptop users.

The Library is pleased to announce that the following new journals subscriptions will commence in 2008 :

Blood - Online
Cell Metabolism - Online
Journal of Leukocyte Biology - Print/Online
Journal of Smoking Cessation - Print/Online
Respiratory Care - Print/Online
Stata Journal - Print/Electronic mail

The Ian Potter Library has purchased monographs from the Acta Neurochirurgica Supplement series which were published by Springer-Verlag in Austria. The purchased supplements contain papers from recent symposiums on brain trauma focusing on :

• Brain oedema and tissue injury
• Trauma, ischaemia and secondary brain damage
• Intracranial pressure and neuromonitoring
